Talent matters of course but really the majority of work is done by the machine behind them putting them in good spots, writing engaging stories, big time entrances that make them look larger than life and a million other small things that hide flaws and show strengths.
Without the machine behind them many of these wrestlers are shockingly ordinary and would have zero shot at any show business career. That's why AEW sucks so hard and every former mega star from a real promotion quickly loses their shine and is just another guy.
