I played on my friend's switch when it came out, and the shit had stutters ever 15-30 seconds. Like the game would just completely freeze for a split second and completely throw you off. Did they patch that?

Nah I legit had hopes that this game would at least be better than 2K slop. Somehow it's far worse though. They fucked up by hiring Yuke's, and thinking having one (1) director, not even developer, from No Mercy would have an influence on it.

The game is decent. it's crazy how it's been out for over 6 months and hasn't had a single new match type added to the slim list, but what's in there plays very well and tops the WWE games we've had for the past two generations.

You can audit this kind of shit independently. It didn't make the PS5 store's monthly top 20. Never got any higher than top 200 on the Xbox store. Steam trackers say it sold 25,000 to 40,000 on its platform, which would mean $2m - $4m in revenue assuming that people collectively spent $80 each on it. That also assumes no refunds were issued. It does not take into account the percentage that the publisher and Steam take from each sale. This is a game that was actually reported by someone other than Tony himself that its budget already exceeded $10 million one year into development.

tl;dr: There's no fucking way that a game which lost 99% of its player base in just a few weeks made any money.

We already know that the first year of development cost $10 milly. There were outside reports of AEW being unhappy with Yuke's because of budget overruns. $100 milly is ridiculous, but $30 milly isn't. Assume that Tony didn't spend any more than the $10,000,000 that went into that first year. The break even point would be 12.5 copies in your scenario.

It all makes a lot more sense when you realize that AEW is a money laundry. It doesn't need to be profitable because Pakistan needs to hide its drug and human traffic lucre. Fight Forever was just another tool for daddy Shad's blood money.
