I think Cody wanted Punk/Jericho money, but 1) He couldn't challenge for the world title, so he couldn't main event PPVs. 2) He clearly didn't want to turn heel despite the crowd being extremely over him as a babyface. I can see how it's difficult for Khan to justify paying him Punk money when the guy's segments do draw on TV, but they're all trainwrecks, all of your fans fucking hate his wife who he brings out for every segment, and he booked himself out of challenging for the world title and he's apparently not willing to change ANY of this.
Then he goes to WWE and of course Brandi never shows up and he's the most beloved guy in the world no matter what happens because the sun shines up that company's ass 24/7.
