Cody wasn't a game changer in AEW that much was clear given that everyone saw what happens when you give Cody full creative control. He only works when he's tard wrangled. Same with Phil. Both Cody and Phil work better when someone is breathing down their shoulder. They are not responsible or smart enough to work in a hands-free creative environment like AEW.

No AEW fans wanted some gay 2006 John Cena invincible babyface run that Cody clearly wanted as he does now. He pivoted to bleeding and getting whipped every few weeks but everyone saw right through him. He's a good fit for WWE but he was never going to be that guy in AEW unless he turned heel first.

Nah that's just a Bryan thing, he's too selfless. In WWE he didn't even want to main event a second Mania and spent most of his time prior screwing around in the midcard.
