But by the time Piper came to the WWF, he was already one of the biggest stars in wrestling, and had established himself as a top promo. Piper was brought in specifically because he was already a big deal, same with guys like Hogan or Savage or JYD or DiBiase to name just a few in those early years.
Now the younger guys looking for their big break, like Shawn Michaels? Absolutely he got railed by Pat. Maybe Vince too. But Piper didn't need to turn tricks for his spot anymore than Hogan would have.
