why is it that when famous wrestlers to to aew (other than Punk), instead of making aew feel like a big league wrestling company they just end up looking like minor league nobodies?

aew has the TNA thing where so much about the company is small time and minor league that it actually hurts the reputations of former WWE wrestlers to be on their TV shows. it's fine for indy shitters like the young bucks or Kenny Omega or hangman page who have never been on TV before, but putting guys like that on an equal level to people like Daniel Bryan or Rusev or edge is confusing for fans and instead of the indy shitters being elevated to the level of the star, the opposite happens.

Because no one is a draw (neither was Phil, by the way). WWE is the draw because it's the brand that has the largest market. Even if Cody Rhodes, Roman Reign, Seth Rollins, Asuka, Iyo Sky, and Bianca Blair were to hop over to AEW, nothing would really change. Meanwhile, if Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Hangman, Hikaru Shida, Jamie Hayter, and Mariah May when to AEW, they'd be million plus drawers - not because they're actually stars, but because the veiwership is much higher due to the installed fanbase.

Dudley) all have massively inflated egos because they were carried by Austin and Vince to relevance and yet they unironically believe that they were secretly the real key to the success of The Attitude Era.

No one history except Hall and Nash have successfully reinvented themselves with different names and gimmicks after leaving the fed. Even Dwayne himself didn’t become a star until he started using “The Rock” again in movie credits.

Hall and Nash aren't even special, at least not on that front. When Hall showed up, he was still pretending to be Razor Ramon, and it was at a time when the WWF was at its weakest and WCW was about to hit the zenith of its product.
