I was originally a fan of their BTE videos. I even watched all 260 episodes (at the time). Real fans know what ik talking about. Anyways, fast forward to 2022 and brawl out happens and I had to draw the line in the sand, because Punk will always be my main. Sad day, I wish these guys the best.

Flipshitting and being spot monkeys aren't necessarily the problem with the Bucks imo
It's more of the undeserved spots high up on cards and shows that they don't belong in when they've never been the best tag team of whatever company they've been in be that TNA, ROH or AEW
If you think the Bucks are main event caliber, like a certain someone has become fond of saying, you're in the wrong business

I genuinely don’t understand how AEW was able to start off their name, I don’t see anything of value in them, they genuinely don’t bring anything unique to the table. What am I missing?

It wasn’t because of them, but I pretty much stopped watching indies shortly after their rise in popularity. It just became a lot easier and affordable to watch superior Japanese wrestling.
But they were fine as pwg opening match guys.

Some tag match where they did that synchronized bullshit wrestling was the first match I saw and I knew it wasn't for me. I tried though, I tried to give a chance but they ruined Penta too with that championship match later on

The first time I saw them? Their whole style of wrestling looks like a slow motion acrobat show. All of their spots require too much cooperation with their opponents to be remotely believable. It's all just too fake to be decent wrestling.

I wouldn’t say I was already a huge fan, but I enjoyed their matches. Their 2nd AEW tag title reign though, by this point I’m completely no longer interested in the Bucks. Literally no change or innovation to themselves as characters or as wrestlers. They have plateaued and are not going to be anything other than “le evil corporation” for the rest of their time in AEW

First time I watched one of their longer tag matches in AEW.
Didn't mind them on NJPW shows because they were usually in 4 way spotfest tags or multi-mans where they could hide, but they don't know how to work a traditional tag match and it's painfully obvious.

Somewhere after the first year of AEW. Realized that they more or less do the same match every week. Weekly TV lifted the veil on them. Which is crazy because I still enjoyed Kenny Omega as much as I did when he was in Nooj as far as in ring work is concerned.

Tale of the tale since AEW’s inception is getting excited over their hypotheticals and the hype all of their guys bring from where they were prior. I feel like the appeal of AEW up to this point has been “what it could be” with all the talent and resources it has. But like year 5 they still have the same issues they did in year 1 and haven’t changed made many good adjustments. In the first two years people were still in the honeymoon phase and willing to look past flaws, focus on the positive because AEW was a newborn promotion. It’s 5 years old now and people have seen that the company as is isn’t going any or much higher than where it’s been up til now. With the current structure or lack thereof this is where AEW tops out.

I don't find them uniquely bad. I think modern tag wrestling is universally shitty. FTR, the Usos, Lucha Bros, none of these teams are compelling in the ring. Just constant go-go-go action and trying to overachieve in every match but flopping

This. Omega is actually as good as advertised imo. The Bucks have basically ridden his coattails for fucking years now. Weekly TV and stretches where they can’t attach themselves to a proper singles star leaves them exposed and they know it. Why do you think with absolute IMMEDIACY they brought Okada in to replace Omega instead of letting him do something on his own?

When I watched the young bucks vs golden lovers at that one NJPW show in America and they got absolutely fucking mogged, looked like a pair of total shitters in the ring next to a pair of actual athletic guys. They work a style that they're nowhere near fast enough to even make look good.

It wasn't. It started on Jericho, Kenny, Cody and Moxley. The bucks are backstage guys who helped the infrastructure and made various smart deals like getting BC merch in hot topic, but they've never been the draws themselves. They're not the names, they're the business-savvy friends of the names.

I liked their feud with Motor City Machine Guns in TNA from what I remember. When NJPW was getting on in the States I finally took an interest in the Bucks proper and thought they embodied the worst of Shawn Michaels. I still like Omega and Hangman but I don’t like the Bucks. Some of their matches are good, but they need a dance partner to reign in their worst habits
