I think what’s crazier to think about (impressive even) is how in one year Tony was able to dismantle the entire perception of Switchblade as said in the original post. Like to destroy a wrestler’s character so well I’m so short a time is almost amazing. The power of booking ladies and gentlemen.

Jay is probably still gonna find a way to end up in WWE and do a decent enough job for himself, though not as strong now that AEW chewed him up and spit him out

I feel like this is just the fate of gaijin wrestlers in New Japan. Had Kenny not jumped to AEW and stood with New Japan I feel like he would’ve been their gaijin champ as they looked to expand into the west.

This comes from Meltzer, so take it with whatever amount of salt that you'd like, but he said in detail years ago that if Kenny had stayed they weren't going to have him drop the belt until it was time to crown Naito at WK14. Supposedly G1 Supercard ends with either an Okada loss or TLD against Kenny, then Okada spends the rest of the year elevating the IC Title. Naito-Okada & Omega-Ibushi on Night 1, Naito-Omega on Night 2.
