I have negative hype for mania. What went so wrong? It feels like a Summerslam, not a Wrestlemania. Compare to last year where the hype was insane.

coconut community theater was what made last year so hyped. this year has no coconut, it's just cody this, cody that, muh story. romans barely been involved this year at all which is a big reason at least for me why theres been 0 hype. the usos didnt even get any theater and it's their fucking tag team breakup match.

cody vs rock is the feud with heat and that likely isn't getting paid off at mania because rock is going over night 1 so it feels like an impending jerkoff session to get the belt on cody rather than a payoff. similarly seth vs drew feels like filler until punk's brittle bones heal, just too many guys being third wheels in their own feud and shit feeling like a middle act rather than a conclusion
the best sounding match on paper is gunther vs sami and those guys both are positioned a step beneath where they should be, i know wwe never has much faith in the vegan indie darlings but both guys are treading water compared to last year. hard to get invested

the whole card is just set up for future feuds
WHC match is set up for Punk vs Drew, night 1 main event is set up for Cody vs Rock, IC match is set up for Gable vs Gunther or Gable vs Sami, Jimmy vs Jey will have Jimmy go over to set up a long feud
Logan has a throwaway match because he's paying the company so they have to have him keep the belt until Summerslam in Cleveland, niggers vs japs is just to get Jade a pin on her debut, same with the mexican match and Andrade
and Roman vs Cody is completely obligatory at this point because they took way too long to get the belt on Cody
