Dylan's songwriting remained relevant through following decades while the Beatles' individual members failed to really produce anything of merit beyond the 70s (sans Harrison who had something of a career revival in the 80s, and 00s before his death).
This one is close and ultimately a toss up, but Dylan is so much more than a pop artist. He's a fucking Nobel Prize winner, a Pulitzer Prize winner, a Poet Lauriate, and probably knows the most about American music of anyone still alive right now.
