Not the original poster but I never talk to random people about wrestling shit unless there's a good reason.

Even though I'm in my mid 30s I recently spent a ton of time with zoomers in the Army and they never showed any indication that wrestling was even on their radar. They'd be interested in some anime or video game but never wrestling. The one guy I talked to about it was in his late 20s and it was mostly just telling him crazy stories from the Attitude Era he was completely unaware of. Stuff like Austin showing up to Raw with an AR-15 threatening to shoot up the place sounds crazy if you're just hearing about it in retrospect and only have the current product as a reference point.

Yeah with the Rock being the highest paid actor he's pretty much this generation's Arnold Schwarzenegger. Saying "The Rock got famous for wrestling, not acting" would be like saying "Arnold got famous for being Mr Olympia, not acting". Sure it helped jumpstart their careers but most fans don't care much about that part of their lives.

I still think of the Rock as a wrestler first but I realize I'm in the minority.
