>>14106532>I think there is a way you can use this to get the Bucks and Perry more over. But there's also a way where it can totally backfire.Eh. Those are guys who people already have made their decision on whether they love or hate them. I don't see it benefitting them in any way at this point of their careers or even for their heel turn. They can't cut a promo and they're too self-aware for their own good. I expect it to backfire more than anything.
>I think the Young Bucks have been totally proven right in not wanting to work with Punk. It's clear that the dude is an insane hypocrite who can't be trusted to do anything, even acting in his own long-term benefit.Like the Bucks, Punk is a guy people already have an opinion towards. This doesn't do anything for him. But on this point, AEW cut this rah rah company speech that failed to get over and the next week they're basically doing what Punk criticized. As for the angle, this is why Tony should've (and even Punk agreed) fired him after Brawl Out.
This mess is mainly on Tony Khan for not being a boss. When you really think about it, he gave Punk all the leverage by keeping him for another year and looking like a complete bitch for doing so. If Tony fired him in 2022, I don't even think WWE would've signed him. They signed him in 2023, because overall fan support was way down for AEW.
