Had he simply stayed retired from wrestling in 04 he’d still have bee considered a GOAT for carrying the Attitude Era with Austin, he’d still be on Rushmore. I think longevity now helps his argument even more. What he’s been able to make of his 40’s (I wasn’t the biggest fan of his Boots to Asses character but it was pretty fucking successful) and especially what he’s been able to do at 51 years of age in this recent run is icing on the cake. 51 year old Final Boss Rock came in and was beyond tremendous in the late stages of the Cody-Roman story and the end of a historic title reign. Not only did he contend with the top babyface and heel of the company but he overshadowed them at as an older guy at a fraction of what he was in his prime.
Idc what anyone says. I love Austin and respect the hell out of Hogan for what he’s done for and in the Fed but to me The Rock collectively is the GOAT. I wouldn’t be outraged if someone said Austin. Wouldn’t object if someone said Hogan. But it’s Rock clear as day for me taking the main 90’s-early 2000’s body of his career plus what he’s accomplished since his 2011/2012 return including this recent Final Boss run, becoming the single biggest mega star that the business of professional wrestling has ever produced (hurr durr he’s an actor, hurr durr he’s a business man running Under Armor, everything he’s grown into and everything he’s become stems from him being The Rock and what he’s been as a pro wrestler). Everyone’s entitled to an opinion but imo it’s has to be him.
