I feel like it'd be a huge waste for him to not go full white meat babyface. People can laugh at the fact that he lost everything this weekend, but he got booked unbelievably strongly in the process. The story of the weekend is him doing everything to protect Cody, whether it be pushing him out of the way of a spear, interrupting the Rock when he was about to belt the shit out of him, or taking the chair shot that led to Cody ultimately turning the match around and winning it all. Also he took a thousand claymore kicks earlier in the day. It would suck if they used this to make him become le wacky heel again.

If he's not doing his fake laugh or whatever all his promos are spiteful, angry, and vindictive. He has venom that he can't tap into because if he does then he's got no claim to being "the good guy" but desperately wants to (in character - Seth himself is good at playing this "I have to be good but really wish I didn't" role and makes it convincing).

He literally gave up his world title for Cody. You can spin that he was delusional and thought he could beat Drew after Night 1, but even after losing, he still went out and put his body on the line during the main event. That's not a heel move no matter how you spin it. He just needs to figure out how to have a gimmick that isn't a shitty joker impression or wearing the gayest shit possible in order to have a good face run for at least the near future.

I imagine the heel version of current Seth would be like Jericho's 2008 character but louder and more outspoken, coming out in a dark suit to cut promos with no flair whatsoever. Yelling at people for making him into a clown and a meme and he played along with it in the hopes his capability would be respected as part of it but it never came no matter how long he kept up the facade and having to act like he was enjoying all the flamboyance was eating him inside when he was surrounded by people who drove him insane with their inferiority and need to be put in their place. But he held back because "that's not what everyone wanted for him" and that ends now.

I said in my original post that I know that they could go that way, but it would be a huge waste to do so. Having him immediately turn on Cody would be super predictable and also just make him look like an idiot for throwing away his title. Let him stay a face and see how it goes before throwing away all that goodwill. He can turn in a year or so when the crowd gets sick of his shtick and he has another twitter meltdown.

Also you have to remember in my vision that Seth is ACTING like this. He is doing all this babyface stuff because he thinks what he's getting is acceptance but perceives it in his head as sacrificing dignity so long as he has their attention. Eventually he'll have had enough and proclaim that whatever they thought of him was just what he was doing to try to appeal to them.

Yeah, I'm not saying pull the trigger and go in right away but start the decline. If we assume that Cena was going to go heel against The Rock in 2012 going into WrestleMania 29 then play it like that. It all began at WrestleMania XL. Seth loses his focus because he's haunted by all the bad decisions he made at Mania and how little payoff for him has come around in the aftermath. He has some wins to his name throughout the year but something's definitely off about his game. He lost that pep in his step when he was champion and that seething, irate side that periodically broke out when he was champion begins manifesting more and more.
