You're getting paid a good amount, but nothing really gets done and everyone around you is completely devoid of soul because they're all in it for a pension. For the first couple of years this is great, but then it slowly dawns on you that you accomplished nothing, took 0 risks and are completely fucked once you stop working there.
I left government work because I was getting like my coworkers. Completely devoid of happiness or any all feeling. Work always sucks, but nothing is more draining than Government work. You really recognize just how incompetent the systems around you are.
AEW is the same. Pay is great, but you know that nothing is ever really going to happen. You're entire future is defined on the whims of a cokehead and the indy shitters he made EVPs. Nobody wants to do anything cool, they just want the equivalent of office pizza parties (bangers) every week. There is no incentive to grow, branch out, or try something new. And whenever there is something unique (Toni) it's completely over pushed to the point you begin to hate it.
