No. AEW fans were so convinced he was gonna turn heel they literally booed Cody out if the company, but there was never a push to turn him heel. Cody didn't want to be booed and was just oblivious to stupid shit he was doing. He's still doing it, and so are the fans thinking he's going to turn heel again.

Another heel figurehead would be cringe ngnl, but a story where Cody keeps picking up wins over all-comers then becomes so full of himself that he starts treating everyone who helped him finish muhstory like shit and slowly becomes Reigns 2.0, the very thing he sacrificed his own well being to destroy, before getting put in his place by whoever the rising star babyface is at that point would be gigadimes. One small problem, WWE doesn't have any rising star babyfaces lol.
