The only moment of Sting's final match anyone talks about is Darby going through the glass, and Sting's final match was a month ago. How did Sting win? Pinfall? Submission? Did Matt or Nick take the L? Will anyone even remember a year from now? Nope.
Moves don't sell tickets or make people tune in. The before/after is what matters. AEW could have picked Nick to be completely unhinged towards Sting, with Matt trying to reign him in.....then during that final iconic moment, have Sting get his hands on Nick and get his payback. Instead it's just, hey whos in the ring? Who cares, put you in the Scorpion, tap out, that's a career.
This is why Peacock is going to pay through the nose to keep WWE PLEs away from Netflix, while AEW can't even get a streaming deal.
