Can someone explain to me why NJPW is so adamant about working with AEW when all they've done is poach their talent and fail to bring them any attention?

Bonus: why are they so opposed to work along with WWE?

They're not opposed to working with WWE. NJPW is bingo hall shit and the only promotions on their level are B or C tier promotions like AEW, TNA, and ROH. WWE doesn't want to work with them because they're fucking japanese and nobody cares

I think it's more WWE doesn't want/need to work with NJPW. Like seriously, what would WWE get out of a NJPW partnership? If they did work together, the most it would probably be is an NXT thing, not a main roster thing.

I doubt New Japan was paying Okada and Ospreay peanuts. They just saw an opportunity to work less, less effort and get a HUGE bag of cash for it. Ospreay has literally said as much as far as choosing AEW for the schedule and pay.

i think they're warming up to doing more with other promotions. having tna wrestlers be guest entries in the rumble over the years and regal's kid doing an excursion in all japan could be baby steps into a bigger thing.

WWE isn’t as popular over here, stuff like cuckoldry is seen as fetish material for social outcasts so WWE is on the same level as really fucked up hentai for most people.
We also still have a lot of love for Kenny Omega and the Bucks. I live in Hokkaido and everyday I see at least a few AEW shirts while I’m walking around.
