Final Boss Rock is an S tier character in power level. Undertaker super powered by being at Mania is also S tier. If it wasn’t Austin who poetically makes sense as Rock’s foil Taker was the next sensible choice to be a power match for Final Boss Rock and stop abuse of power and shenanigans at HIS house Wrestlemania.

I know you just said not to say anything like that but as far as I can tell that is literally the reason like it or not.

It would make sense in that they were rivals in the Attitude Era but it would not make sense in the way that Rock>Triple H historically (I know the mega heel push he got in 2000 but by historical fan perception, like I’d you did a nostalgia match between HHH and Austin rn you wouldn’t expect HHH>Austin). Like I wouldn’t buy that pacemaker retired Triple H could stand up to this new suped up version of The Rock. Plus it just would’ve been a bad look with “Paul Levesque era” and felt like he was putting himself over way too much.

Undertaker is basically the embodiment of justice since 2004. This isn’t the first time he appears out of nowhere just to right a wrong going on in HIS ring. Just like he’s the judge of wrestlers’ court he is the judge inside the ring.
