Is *it* something you're born with and you'll naturally acquire through your career? Or something you need to work hard for?

Did Cody always have it and he just needed time to age, or was it his hard work in the indies?
Are Drew's and LA's current personas a product of hard work or was it a matter of waiting for the right place/right time?

Brock had it as soon as he debuted at 23, natural born talent. Is his peak potentially higher than a hardworker's?

It factor cannot be taught, but it requires confidence to show it. Some wrestlers need to develop until they are confident enough to show who they are. Others are supremely confident from the start (Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle are prime examples).

Confidence is not it factor. But confidence is necessary because if you're insecure, you will hide whatever it factor you may have. Prime example of this was Rock in his early days as Rocky Maivia. He needed Ron Simmons to mentor him, more freedom with the Nation, and then support from Austin and Bret. The it factor was always inside, but Rock needed to build the confidence to let it out.

A great promoter will be able to spot the it factor even if the wrestler doesn't know it and doesn't show it (yet).

The IT is literally just the physical charisma + look. Anyone can attain that if they attempt to get a clue, but most people won't because most people are npcs incapable of building a cool image

Age and experience definitely plays a factor. Brock is a once in a lifetime freak and the rules seem to not apply to him, but other than that everyone needed a couple of years. I know someone else mentioned Kurt, but you can argue he didn't fully have "it" until later in his career. No doubt he was still incredibly good, but it took a while for him to actually look on par with the other main eventers. Certainly wasn't the case during his first world title run.
"It" is somewhat intangible. I'd still say the look is the most important part, then confidence and the way they carry themselves (i.e. charisma) plays a large part too. And that's something that has to be learned over time.

Yes. People without "it" can fake having it if they work really hard at being charismatic and entertaining but they'll never truly have "it" so they're always one step behind guys like Rock and Austin. Example of someone with fake "it": Triple H.
