The thing about the downside is that you don’t look at that number . If you’re on the main roster you’re going to make more money with merch including the video game and mobile sales.
Tony just probably threw them a huge number per year and sweetened the deal
With something like 24 dates per year to actually show up on tv/ppvs. It’s a fact you don’t make much from merch in AEW because their reach globally is a lot less and their distribution model is dogshit .
When cody left AEW he said
“It’s time for me to make alot of money with WWE .” He made a million dollars in just merch over mania weekend.
Do not underestimate the power of merch in WWE .
