Let's face it, Cody isn't going to be the next big face of the company. he just doesn't have it. They just stuck the belt on him because they were taking too long to find the right guy and the length of Roman's title reign was approaching the point of it being ridiculous, so they just had to put it on Cody. Right place, right time for Cody.
