>>14255464In hindsight, the first nail was already hammered in when Cody left. Ever since then they've never really been able to find a networking guy who's been able to spread the word about AEW, Cody was their biggest cheerleader and the literal face of the company. He was a judge on Go Big Show to draw in casuals, he got Rhodes To The Top off the ground to draw in women, and anytime AEW needed any press guy he was always there. They tried to replace him with Chris Jericho when he did Impractical Jokers and the cooking show about rats, but he couldn't really move the needle like Cody and people still confuse him for still being in WWE. The current press guy is Tony, who's done more to sink the promotion's reputation instead of boosting it. Also Dynamite moving to TBS was also a misstep. TNT was perfect due to sharing the network with the NBA, Big Ticket Movies, more programming oriented for younger males which meant Dynamite would be more likely to get newer viewers who would actually stick around and benefit the ratings/demo. TBS is a channel for middle aged women and restaurants. Yeah the lead in for Big Bang Theory was a benefit on paper, but when you remember the only people who watch BBT are moms trying to understand why their sons are into "nerd culture", they aren't sticking around for Shibata and Daniel Garcia.
