The fans who know about them in the West already know or watch NJPW before anything like this, so they aren't getting anyone new. Other than getting straight cash for selling their belt essentially to Tony this does nothing for their business. Mox is going to defend the title less than any other champion for them. If he does defend it, it will be on AEW against like fucking Hook or someone. This is just NJPW whoring themselves out after the other company legit raided them for all their talent. Honestly it seems a matter of time before NJPW sells itself to Tony. If I'm WWE I'm unironically hoping that happens. it would remove the largest barrier to entering the Japanese territory.
