What gets me about Ospreay is he's keen but he's also an idiot at the same time. He can recognize that CM Punk, Cody, etc, can trash talk WWE and still go there later down the road, but he forgets the part where the fans have a history with them, management has history with them across multiple companies, etc. The timing isn't exactly correct (officially, by a week or two), but Bruce Prichard and Cody Rhodes overlapped during Cody's stint in TNA. But I digress.
The same Ospreay who thought getting tattoo of a gimmicked attendance number was a good idea is the same guy who reads and believes the IWC smarkslop praising all of his 20-minutes-too-long matches as being 6 1/2-star bangers. There's a difference between taking a few jabs and completely burying your chances, but Will believes his own hype so much, he thinks he can go 100% burying WWE but still be their #1 target a few years down the road should AEW not pan out.
He just sounds weird making these speeches, knowing the building is 3/4 empty when he's not advertised, 3/4 empty when he's advertised, and 3/4 empty when he has a match advertised. Complete non-factor for a company that can no longer rely on the travelling COVID-truther WFH tranny circus that used to bounce from show to show and artificially inflate the numbers and enthusiasm.
