Tony ovwrbids for every talent so he can brag that he defeated wwe at spending money on a guy he has no use for. It's the only win he gets so he calls it a bidding war. It's actually two negotiations and offers and Tony just offers more.

For some reason, AEW wrestlers believe the cameramen and production staff will block the shots properly to hide the slop.
Even fucking Ambrose blades himself in the middle of the ring not expecting the AEW cameras to focus and zoom in on him.

If you listened to HHH discuss free agent contract negotiations, he basically gives them a "take it or leave it" lowball offer. There is no counter offer. No negotiations. WWE doesn't need more wrestlers right now, so why get aggressive.

It sounds like bullshit because Paul's not a sperg like the tonikan, but it's true. If you don't think Paul wanted Ospreay and to a lesser extent Mercedes, you're not looking at the big picture.

If Paul landed Ospreay and Mercedes AEW has nothing. Bucks and FTR are midcarders. Kenny is out for probably another year. Jericho is showing his age. MJF turned out to be terrible. Darby Allen will hurt himself eventually. Sting is done. It's time for the second generation of AEW talent or their goose is cooked. Paul was probably mad he couldn't get the Ospreay contract, because it would have ended AEW right there.
