>>14311381As someone whose been watching closely what they did with Priest because I was curious and skeptical about exactly this, they never really gave him the big spotlight you'd need as a potential world champion. Hell his biggest singles match he had after the briefcase was on PPV vs Cody so he was obviously never winning that and lost clean in the middle of the ring. Might've even had some judgment day interference, I don't remember. His cash in attempts were always prevented by actual main eventers like Drew when they happened or just preemptively because his Mami said no. He was made to look like a huge dork the whole time and then they saddled them with R-Truth for the comedy stick, which was very entertaining but you could argue dragged on for way too long until Priest realized what it was doing to the stable and ejected Truth.
Now do I think he really has the ability to be a top guy? Not really. But creative seemed to think so as well so they didn't even put in the effort to try.
