>>14317773The Divas era was much more of a joke than what we have now. Granted, they both suck in their aspects. If women's WWE matches were like oldschool women's japan wrestling, it might be hotter than the men's division. But the women are struck on if they want to be "characters" or "wrestlers". Because the "characters" want to be this "hear me roar" woman who want to look picturesque, always cute, independent, takes no guff, but the wrestlers are more akin to the japan style of just getting shit done and wanting the belt at any cost. If you ask me, if you want women to be taken serious, then you need to present them as masculine deep inside. Make em look cute if you want, but it's still supposed to be a competition with your life and body on the line, where you want to win to be the best. If it's not looking like a real match or like they're really trying to win and be competitors, then no one will ever buy it. Like even for Trish and Lita, their greatest accomplishments were being sex icons who wrestled. In that sense, you could say Chyna is more of a "real women's wrestler" than any of the women so far. But she did have that whole thing with playboy, so make of it what you will.
