>>14329903This is true, if NBA leaves WBD, then TNT/TBS are in danger of being carried by less cable/satellite providers due to their lack of original content, esp. sports. WBD needs to do everything possible to keep at least 1/2 of their NBA package, and then pair it with WNBA, Tennis, Golf or other sports - AEW fits in only after WBD is certain they won't be dropped by providers.
>>14329810 Solomonster is a smart guy but doesn't know what he's talking about here. USA has about 98% overlap with TNT/TBS as far as cable packages go, so Smackdown on USA coupled with WBD losing NBA would obliterate WBD's need to bid for AEW. Losing the entire NBA package would likely send TNT/TBS into cost-cutting mode, not make them overpay for AEW and become Wrasslin' channels
>>14328867Thurston is a smart guy sometimes. But Dynamite is overvalued here and the PPVs/Next-Day is undervalued. WBD's best deal would be to join MAX for access to next-day/catalog, but have a $5-10/mo add-on for AEW PPVs. And yes, the best move for Rampage/Collision is to move to another media property like Fox. I wouldn't worry about Paramount--if broke ass WBD can find the money, Paramount can find the money as well.
