Souled Out was basically him jerking himself off on what was cool and not understanding why the group worked. They were still popular (obviously) but it did start coming off as a bunch of dads trying to relive highschool.
96' NWO is more Hall and Nash input. Seemed more cooler and vicious and in line with what kids liked. You could see the differences, and a lot of the ideas "Paid Advertisement" was Hall and Nash telling Bischoff not to do stupid shit.
