>>14343377The answer is: deeper gameplay with more options. Not much different functionally but it adds a combo system for strikes which is awesome, and some MMA shit.
It's for this reason that people typically use VPW2 for the base for "No Mercy edits". Like the Freem edition of VPW2 adds more or less all the big WWF/WCW names from those games respectively, and even the ones which only use WWF/WCW guys exclusively still typically use VPW2 as the core to mod from because it's just the most finalized version of an AKI game.
TL;DR if you've ever played a No Mercy mod you've already played VPW2
