Why has Swerve Strickland been accepted as a top guy by AEW fans whereas every other black person in the company's history has flopped completely?

for me when he first came in i didnt like him. i felt like he was just a diversity hire. and i wasn’t keen on guys who were fired from wwe getting treated like a big deal. i started to notice something with him first in a match teaming with keith lee where he did a catapult flip off Lee’s fat belly. so i started to notice a unique in ring style from there. then when he had the match against AR Fox my friend recommended a match they had against each other in LA that was outstanding. from there it was mainly his first hangman match and i was completely sold

I never watched Lucha underground and I didn't watch NXT when he was there, so my first exposure to him was in AEW, he is very clearly better than all the shitters they were pushing as pillars or whatever, he was bound to end up here simply because he isn't an untrained shitter flippy shitting all across the ring and hurting himself for no reason.
