Kenny had a gamechanging heavyweight run in NJPW. He had a great look as The Cleaner. But he couldn't stop himself from doing goofy cringey shit. He was never able to promo and his AEW run was awful.

Will is doing what Kenny could not do: translating as a star in the States.
