>>14363601Started watching through it myself last year. Expect the greatest professional wrestling roster ever assembled and a lot of really, really fucking bad but funny PPV main events. Eric Bischoff loved bizarre shit like Mortal Kombat knockoff characters, monster trucks, PPVs at motorcycle rallies, and his son's karate teacher as a wrestler. Frequent random appearances from NJPW guys, joshi wrestlers and luchadores that are (understandably, given the setting) underwhelming if you're familiar with any of them from other work. Homegrown wrestlers are typically big dumb meatheads and some of them are based.
The early months of Nitro are funny because they're still trying to work with stale babyface Hogan fighting bland monsters of the week, but the midcard and cruiserweights are great from episode 1. Once the NWO shows up and the episodes go to 2 hours, the ball starts rolling.
Tweener Lex Luger is a surprising early highlight of character work and Sting's slow descent from surfer bro into turning goth is excellent. I'm assuming you've never seen much of Diamond Dallas Page before. He was fucking awesome for a guy who started wrestling in his 30s. You're going to be desperate for him to turn face for the longest time and once it finally happens it's so satisfying. Best finisher ever.
