I've been rewatching some 2003 shit it doesn't just hold up it blows today out of the water.
Every Angle/Brock match is amazing, their Ironman is by far the best ironman ever with A* storytelling and psychology. Angle/Benoit at the Rumble is speed chain wrestling counter wrestling done right I used to love RVD/Lynn but Angle/Benoit is so much tighter.
Vince/Hogan is a phenomenal storytelling match, smarks cream themselves over long term storytelling, this is the apex of it.
Austin/Rock 3 is also excellent long-term storytelling plus finisher spam done well.
Brock/Big Show's stretcher match and Vince/Taker buried alive were fun garbage matches with creative finishes.
There's so much now that lacks the detail of the past, and thinks pure athleticism alone is all that matters as if it's an Olympic gymnastics competition. Even downtime is a diminishing art, increasingly treated as the boring breather between spots rather than mattering itself- look at how people just sit or stand around catching their breath waiting for the next spot.
