>>14392632There's a difference between having a set style or structure and having literally the exact same match each time like Ospreay. Every big match of his devolves into an all out epic of bombs and finishers without a single other story factor at play, just a question of who can hit the other with more moves and who can do the most athletic counters.
You can easily predict exactly what spots Ospreay will do in every match because he copies the same 30 ones each time, never bothering to wrestle his opponents in any unique ways and therefore never making any of them distinguishable from each other.
Tell me what the meaningful physical difference was in how he wrestled Takeshita, Fletcher, and Danielson? If you enjoy them for the athleticism then fine, but don't pretend it's not still the same match each time.
Kobashi's biggest matches all had distinct stories and action despite Kobashi himself being the constant factor. He didn't just find a bunch of spots that worked and then shamelessly copy and paste them into all his other big matches going forward, because he realised that doing so would make his matches less special.
Okada also manages to do this. His matches against Omega, Tanahashi, Marufuji, Ishii, Danielson, Sabre, Suzuki, Elgin, Naito, Shibata, Shingo, Nakamura, and now also Pac are all completely different as far as action and wrestling stories go. That’s because Okada actually allows his opponents to have THEIR style of match against him, whereas Ospreay forces his opponents to only ever wrestle HIS style of match.
