He was always a comedy shitter at heart. Go watch some 96 era Stone Cold, he oversells shit, does the "oh please don't hurt me anymore" beg off stuff, and has comedically bad facial expressions of shock and panic. Good on him for getting a clue and becoming so dimes for his 97-99 run, but he was never able to figure out how to not be a comedic chicken shit character when he was a heel
