>>14432438It wasn't 2000, but I think at this point they just gave up and wanted to catch WWF. People don't talk enough about how bad Nash was as a booker. They brought in Russo strictly because Nash tanked their ratings and gate. Granted, Russo ended up doing even more damage in his first run other than a brief ratings bump (that went back down, but he'll never tell you that) but Nash's run was horrendous.
A lot of weird, stop and start pushes and May-Fall is completely confusing because Nash turns like 4 times, Macho turns a bunch, Sting... FUCKING STING turns heel then face, Flair turns a million times(well this happened a lot), Piper turns, Savage faces fucking Rodman at HogWild.
The only things that kind of gets them through this period oddly enough is the weird Sid + Rick pairing, Goldberg, and Hogan in the yellow, but Hogan leaves within like three months.
