WWE usually goes in a lull at this time and in his case, I think part of it is that he's an NWA mark which is why you rarely saw a face hold on to the belt for too long. I don't expect him to keep it all that long, desu. I wouldn't be shocked if Drew beats him for it in like a month.
And again, it's not like Roman did anything in 2023. He was basically there to just set the rematch that Rock had to come back and carry the story. I don't get this idea that things would be better if some guy that rarely showed up would some how improve things, even though Rock had to do 99% of the work.
