Yes, in a world where all of the tall, charismatic, roided-to-the-gills one in a million athletes that the industry had for decades and decades have left and only 5'11" 175lb skinnyfat indieshitters like CM Punk remain, he is "successful", in the same way that an adult can be "successful" at taking candy from a baby.
10M+ people a week used to watch RAW and Nitro. Now it's a million or two. Pro wrestling used to be a cultural phenomenon. 99/100 people would recognize Stone Cold, Undertaker, Hogan, and a plethora of other names walking down the street. Even the midcarders would be recognized because they would tower and completely mog the average person and everyone would know they were a someone.
CM Punk blends in with the mall crowd. If you didn't know wrestling, nobody would think he was anyone. He's been propped up by redditors who jerk off to short, charismaless mediocre men who don't threaten their low-T selves.
Of course Punk is successful. Round of applause for pointing out the obvious. How's the industry going right now? AEW sucks and WWE only doesn't suck for the 2 month period when [insert random Attitude / Ruthless Aggression Era star] returns around Wrestlemania season.
