>>14457723Russo is hated because he throws out wild Jerry Springer tier shock shlock ideas to grab attention, which makes his booking very uneven. He books to chase the next week's show, books PPVs to sell the next nights TV, every show is leading to an endless payoff that always swerves to continue to the next one. It makes sense as a philosophy because wrestling is a continuous product always needing to sell the next show, no contained seasons like sports or regular TV. It's just not always the best quality or most coherent and logical because he'd rather do something shocking to sell the next show than keep everything internally consistent, he banks on most casuals either not watching enough or remembering long ago enough to be bothered and he's generally right.
Which is really the crux of it. He books to sell week by week to in and out casuals and entertainment fans, rather than die hard "watch every week" ultra dour purists who fixate on moves, spots or "sport style" in ring as if that's what everyone enjoys most. Antismark doesn't mean being a re? dumb contrarian jerking off over other people's profits, it means booking to casuals and enjoying what casuals enjoy (not enjoying the fact they enjoy it ie focusing on ratings). Russo is the ultimate antismark.
