Who are the future Japanese aces of professional wrestling? Because I for one don't have faith that Shota or Ren have a lot in the tank where star power is concerned. Even Tsuji feels like an upper midcarder.

It feels like a dark age of talent in the JP scene. The first time we have had diminishing returns on talent level instead of it progressively going up. Maybe All Japan's new generation can lead the way, but aside from Tsuiji and Ueno I see a distinct lack of dimes.

Tsuji's doing the best so far and I think there's lots of room for him to grow. He just needs more in-ring experience. Yuya's doing okay considering NJPW wants him as a slow burn babyface. Ren I'm willing to wait to see if HoT does anything for him long term. Shooter is pretty dorky.

A Chono is really the best they can hope for but I still don't see it.

Shota is definitely way too soft and seems to have no personality of his own. He's the best in the ring, though, if you ask me.
I don't even know what Narita is thinking with the X-Factor and shit. He's completely lost the plot and I really like House of Torture -- he just does not fit in with them.
And Tsuji? He has the most presence and the most charisma but he has the most WWE moveset of all time with the curb stomp and the spear, I can't stand it. Also, the lucha shit.

There is very little of 'Strong Style' about any of the three.

Jake is a case of he does everything in the ring fine but he's just boring and somehow his choice in ring attire gets worse every year. NOAH also struck gold with Kongo just to have them disband to push GLG who has no real rival factions of note to fight.

Shota, too, but he needs more adversity and character development. I think he'll start to get that in the Moxley match.

Ren can make it as a sadsitic heel. He's the one I'm the most iffy about, but sometimes those guys are the ones who surprise you.

This is probably a good thing because if any of the up and comers in NJPW had that level of potential, tonikan is driving a dump truck full of money to their front door and making sure that potential is realised in AEW.

True. Honestly all of their strikes leave a lot to be desired. Tsuji has some decent chops but that's it.
