Pisses me off to no end that this has become the umbrella term for WWE between the end of the attitude era and the start of the pg era. Attitude kinda made sense and pg era is self-explanatory, but what was particularly “ruthless aggression”-y about this era as opposed to the attitude era? Beyond the name itself, 2002-about Wrestlemania XX is a totally different vibe and atmosphere compared to the rest of the so called Ruthless Agression era to the point where they should definitely be considered distinct eras. I think the in-ring quality improved a bit in the latter part of the era but a lot of 80s-mid 90s cheesiness and crap gimmicks creeped back into the product.
