>>14479936>Calls me an idiot>Won't discuss wrestling on a board about wrestling>Won't discuss TV deals in a thread about TV dealsFaggot projection as usual. It's not my fault you're a worthless piece of shit with no redeeming qualities, and you're threatened by my presence here.
>>14479986This is accurate but they don't want to listen. AEW hasn't done anything to increase their value to WBD in the last 6 months, the ratings have plummeted. 850k is hard enough to get, a milly is unconscionable at this point. It's not as if cable has lost 15% of subscribers in the last year, AEW is really that ice cold.
>>14480046They pirate the Fite TV broadcast with no commercials. They have no clue who TNT/TBS/AEW's sponsors are.
>>14480021If you've ever been a fan of NBA/NFL, you'd know that deals are announced 3-10 minutes into the free agency period that couldn't have possibly been negotiated in such little time. Agents are constantly discussing these things through 'unofficial' channels, and then when it's no longer a contract violation, they can announce an agreement.
You also have players agreeing to deals 1-2 days before free agency. Why? Because they already know what they'll be offered once Free Agency begins, who wants them, what money/years they're offering, who else they've got deals lined up with, all of the above. They sign the deal early so the team can get big headlines for retaining one of their players, the player can make a social media post about "loyalty" and "finishing the job" and so on.
I say that to say, if AEW was staying on WBD for a massive raise, it would have been announced by now. If AEW was jumping ship to another network, and they had already agreed to terms but were just waiting for the stroke of midnight, then news likely would have leaked already. Instead what we have is a badly-damaged AEW needing to spend the next 2-3 months recovering some of their value and prestige in hopes of landing a solid contract for 2025 and beyond.
