Late 2002-2003 SmackDown was a very entertaining wrestling show. It had good wrestling and far more interesting characters and stories than fucking RAW, where it was just Triple H shitting on ex-WCW guys relentlessly. First the SD six era and the last era of Rock on regular TV, Hogan making appearances, Brock coming in and feuding with Taker and Angle, the rise of Cena, Edge and Mysterio.
2004 was when it went to shit because Angle was injured and Brock left, and they'd lost a lot of their talent to RAW. You had the JBL heel run, which was actually a lot better in hindsight, but at the time I think people really hated it, particularly as it was so jarring for a perennial midcard/tag-team act in Bradshaw to suddenly be presented as a main event champion.
