RVD physically dwarfs nearly all the guys who do that style. He was overly elaborate because that was his gimmick- hes the whole fucking show, he's so good and cocky he'll add a cartwheel and tumble and splits just because he can and still hit it. And it worked because he had legitimacy and authenticity- he was built, flexible, legit martial arts skill (not UFC but enough to seem tougher than the average Joe) with physical charisma and an authentic personality.
Osprey has the flips and mouthy personality but not the physicality, frame, legitimacy etc. he just looks like a gobby chav who took a gymnastics class. The Bucks look like they'd get wrecked by the average person in the street.
For MMA, the "stoic understated badass machine" gimmick has only worked a handful of times - GSP, Fedor, Cro Cop. Cro Cop had an extra gimmick in that he had a signature finishing move, his head kick got over. And GSP and Fedor worked it because of how good they were. Most modern wrestlers don't have that physicality, tightness, presence etc. to carry themselves in the ring as so tough they don't need to talk, they confuse doing lots of moves with having an aura of invincibility. Even Roman didn't have this aura as much as they crowed about God Mode, because he ALWAYS needed cheating and help and took visual losses repeatedly. The last guy to have the understated invincible aura was Brock, and he pulled it off with two moves. That should say everything but nobody wants to pattern themselves on guys like Brock, Goldberg, Austin- guys who got over with casuals and adult men- but also don't want to pattern after Cena, Hogan- guys over with kids and families.
