>>14514553The people willing to put their money (and careers, and retirement, and life savings) where their mouth is say WBD is collapsing and you should steer clear. Who out there is saying you should buy WBD, but not leading by example, not buying up the stock while it's this low? Hucksters, swindlers, and trained liars.
WWE/NBA went past their negotiating windows because they, for multiple rounds of TV talks now, have had multiple suitors lined up every renewal period. And both companies already have multiple media rights partners - WWE for 2025 will have NBCU, Netflix and The CW. --- AEW, unlike your mother, only has 1 partner....WBD. They do not have media companies lined up to throw money at them.
AEW, which recently got cancelled in Serbia and Mexico, needs WBD much more than vice-versa. But WBD needs to overpay for NBA because it's the only premium sports package up for grabs, NFL isn't back up again until 2033 and UFC signed with ESPN for $300M/year.
The idea AEW *wants* to test the open market is a half-truth at best. Their TV titles are literally named TBS and TNT, they're going to have egg on their face if they enter 2025 without programs across both networks.
