If that were true then Tony wouldn't even bother seeking a rights increase and he wouldn't give a single shit if AEW makes a profit ever. But he is seeking a rights increase and he does want AEW to be profitable. All the evidence indicates that Shad actually isn't willing to fund AEW forever and Tony does need it to become self-sufficient at some point in the near future considering he hopes for it to start making money in 2025(which it won't kek).

If Shad was actually funding AEW then the answer is: Forever. He could probably run the entire company with just a part of the NFL profits each year. If AEW were to scale back the size of their contracts a bit and stop way overpaying for people like Sasha Banks, it would be even easier. AEW may not be making a profit right now, but they ARE making money to offset their losses. Some of you guys act like the Khans just have this static pile of cash that never changes. They own businesses and sports teams, they are making an assload of money, plenty to pay for AEW in perpetuity if they wanted to.

Realistically speaking AEW goes on until Tony Khan (41) dies or gets bored of it all and ditches his hobby project which is unlikely to happen any time soon.
The real question is how much damage will he cause just because he has money to throw around and how much of that damage is really offset by the existence of AEW? On one hand it could kill off better promotions and ruin wrestlers, but on the other, it always has a chance of eventually turning into something worthwhile by simply continuing to exist.

You look at old Attitude Era scripts and that's basically what the writers were doing. Guys who could improv well were given an outline, guys who couldn't improv so good were more scripted. With AEW you've got a booker who can't write and there are no writers so it's a free for all mess where the stories are half baked and suck ass.

1 billion = 250 AEW shows arena with 0 profits. Rough estimate based on an even rougher estimate on crew salaries, arena rental prices expenses and roster salaries.
And we know, despite AEW reported running on a 30 million loss at one point, it's not completely non-profit. Scaling down the shows and expenses would vastly improve the profit margin. So something like 10 years or so.

Then you have to substract the expenses. If the expenses are over 250 million, it's a loss. If the expenses are less than 250 million, it's a profit.
