It's entirely intentional and they know what they're doing. It was Cena's entire MO to completely bury whoever he was facing on the mic ahead of time and then immediately after he had the match and beat them the next night he'd come out and talk about how good they are and put them over only now that he's beaten them because it put himself over even further. Could never stand either of those guys
