I honestly feel bad for boomers who had to grow up without a hero. Wrestling was only a way for them to release their sexual frustration or demented desire for violence. They didn't care about any of the wrestlers they just wanted to see big bumps and hear slurs.
Maybe the silent generation had something similar with Hogan, but there was nothing like getting your stomach in knots wait to see if Cena could beat impossible odds. I fucking laugh when hear people now complain about Cena and Orton beating the entire RAW roster. That shit was mind blowing to those of us who were kids. We didn't even know what a 5 star match was, but we sure as hell were getting them every time Cena stepped into the ring.
